New Game Changer From IKEA For Home Gamers

IKEA Gaming Furniture

IKEA has announced the launch of its BRÄNNBOLL collection, specifically designed furniture for gamers. This collection is set to be released in September 2024 and includes twenty versatile items aimed at enhancing the gaming experience while seamlessly blending into home environments. The collection marks a significant step by IKEA to cater to the rapidly growing gaming community, following its initial foray into gaming furniture with a previous collaboration with ASUS Republic of Gamers.

The BRÄNNBOLL collection features a variety of products, from ergonomic seating to innovative storage solutions. Key items include a compact gaming station with a foldable tabletop and integrated PC tower storage, designed to easily transition from a gaming setup to a discreet home storage unit. The collection also boasts a range of seating options, such as the “gaming easy chair” designed by David Wahl, which adapts to the user’s movements to enhance comfort during long gaming sessions. An inflatable chair is included as well, although its practicality and durability have been questioned.

Gaming Furniture Design

Designed with both gamers and their living spaces in mind, the collection emphasizes multi-functionality and ease of transformation. Many pieces are lightweight and equipped with castors, allowing for easy reconfiguration of spaces. The vibrant and playful design deviates from the traditional dark aesthetic of gaming furniture, featuring bright colors and athleisure-inspired elements. This approach aims to reflect the fun and inclusive nature of modern gaming, making it accessible and appealing to a broad audience.

Philip Dilé, Product Design Developer at IKEA of Sweden, stated, “With BRÄNNBOLL, we embrace the idea that gaming is for everyone and belongs everywhere in the home. It’s about making it simple for people to create spaces that adapt to gaming, living, and everything in between.” This sentiment is echoed by many who see the collection as a bridge between the functional needs of gamers and the aesthetic demands of a modern home. The BRÄNNBOLL collection will launch across all IKEA markets in September 2024.
